It was a lot of fun making these and finding cool clues for each of the books!

I am attempting to use art to work on my scarcity issues.

I'm the person who won't use their perfumes or makeup because...well what if I need it later? I'll save food and keep clothes unworn and I have worked so hard to not keep every nice box or container that comes into my world.

This shows up in my art. I get scared to mess up or waste my supplies and if I make a good mark on a page, I will save it and start a new one because, what if I can make something great from it later... I struggle to paint layers or make unplanned art because what if I mess up what I already did?

I've been watching people who do messy, unplanned, layered art. They'll make a beautiful painting and then keep going and add several more layers that to me...were perfect long before but they keep going... and the end result is amazing and layered and deep and... everything is okay.

I want that feeling of okay to abound in my life.

I am practicing with art. I'm using the pages I messed up or aren't good enough and painting on top. I am making a mess on top of brush marks that I genuinely liked. I am letting myself feel uncomfortable with just doing it for it's own sake.

I have a such a blessed and abundant life but I always feel afraid of losing it and in doing so I am often missing it.

This last week has been soo nice.

I really needed a break, and I needed a breather after the last few weeks being so stressful and busy with my baby being so sick and all my events and appts.

By Friday, last week, I was completely overwhelmed, and I blew up and broke down after an extremely difficult and stressful day with 4 appointments and a screaming child.

We had everything pile up on us in one week, my kid ended up in the E.R. because of his asthma, and we got very little sleep along with Easter and family visits and several of my own events and work, and omg, it was soo much.

This week, I just tried to go with the flow and take the easy route at every point, not do anything extra, and just rest.

I feel like I still need a few more weeks to get back to a more stable and calm baseline again.

I don't want to be this super stressed out mom, and I don't want to only be a mom. And I am trying so hard to figure out how to make that work in reality. It always feels like something has to be let go, and I am learning how to decide what goes and what stays.

Lord, send me some patience and strength!

I have never felt so comfortable during a photography session as I did on this day. As you can see, Kayla had me laughing the whole time and she made me feel very light and calm.

I am so happy to have these beautiful pictures surrounded by books and art! I really love how she incorporated my book into the photo shoot and I genuinely feel so proud of how these came out!

It's Poetry Month, and the local libraries are having a ton of poetry related activities going on this month!

Look at this awesome display that the LINC Innovation Center put up for my book 🥰🥰🥰

This is the coolest thing ever!

My teenage self that would visit the old Lincoln library and bring home tons of books and hop on MySpace through their computers and young adult Ro that would go to the temporary downtown location to get help printing immigration paperwork could have never ever imagined a future where she would one day have her own book in this very library system that she grew up loving and appreciating so much.

Our libraries make such a difference for soo many people and we have a very awesome set of them here in Greeley.

If you haven't visited the LINC library, you have to go there at least once, it is a beautiful and magical place!
