These are the 7 pillars of my Be YourSELF framework ā hereās how they show up in times of crisis and survival:
š Self-Awareness sensations, thoughts, emotions, behavior who, what, where, when, how, maybe why a habit of noticing (pattern recognition) recognition of reality (clue in to the world)
š« Self-Acceptance before change, we must accept what is valid responses (spectrum of dissociation to overwhelm) in our control vs. out of control realistic changes vs. adaptation
š Self-Love before care, comes love as action and belief humanity = worth, your life matters you deserve base line safety, rights, and agency
š Self-Care bubble baths vs. breathing (performance vs. caregiving) physical needs (water, air, sleep, food, activity, meds) emotional needs (connection, expression, retreat, therapy/support?, fellowship) cognitive needs (interested focus, integration of values, meaningful work, flow, learning)
š§ Self-Direction stages of change and change cycle realism vs optimism vs pessimism agency and autonomy (choice vs coercion) managing expectations & willpower myth
