5 Great Business Self Help Books

Personal development books come in several categories. Some of them aim to help people work on issues like anger or stress, some of them are aimed at helping people become better versions of themselves, and some of them revolve around making the right moves for financial and career goals.

The books I've chosen below are known for being major influences to thousands of people's lives but are also aimed at people's financial goals. While there are many many more books that fall under this category, I chose these because they're very well known books and chances are that at some point someone will bring them up in conversation.

7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey

So let me tell you my history with this book. Someone at school gave my little brother the TEEN version of this book, that's written by the author's son, and my brother gave it to me. Before this, it never crossed my mind to read a self-help book. It also never crossed my mind to care to examine my actions and how I relate to people. I started reading it and I couldn't put it down. It was the first time I ever really thought to look inward and to look at my behavior and how it was affecting my feelings, my relationships, and my schoolwork. That following semester I signed up to take some classes at the college and I chose Psychology of Workplace Relationships and I was given this huge textbook.

Well, guess what? It taught the same principles that I had learned from Covey's teen book!!! Of course, now as an adult, I have the adult copy and it is still wayyy more interesting than that psyche course!

Think And Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill

You will notice that a whole lot of these books focus on our thinking. This book, while it sounds simple, really makes you work. The book focuses on strategies used by some of the most successful people that have lived. It aims to teach you these strategies so that you too become one of these people.

The Greatest Salesman In The World by OG Mandino

My mom had this book in spanish and I remember her trying to get me to read it as a kid. My mom was a network marketer with companies like AVON and Mary Kay and she did well with them. I always say that she can sell anything to anyone. She has an entrepreneurial spirit. If you are in sales of any kind, this book is gold!

Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki

This book does a great job at teaching us how to look at life and how NOT to look at life. It is important to learn the right way of thinking but this books also explains how the opposite can be limiting us. This book is more modern than the others. It still shows the power that our thinking has on our future.

Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles

I always love when seemingly unrelated things are placed together. You probably don't think of economics are being based in science but this books looks at the principles of gaining wealth as a formula. This books is pretty old, it has been around long enough to no longer be bound by copyright laws which means you can download free copies or audio versions.
