Have you ever felt trapped?
Is it just emotions taking us over? Or could it be “cycles”? Most of us know where we want to go, but never really stop to find out where we are.
Although the millennial generation is goal oriented, lit, unashamed, bold, hungry, business, and tech savvy, some are climbing the ladder with baggage and hidden bruises.
There’s a story about an elephant that was trapped by a rope. One day, someone asked the trainer, “How’s this possible?" He replied, “When elephants are much smaller, we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break-free”
There are several “needs” that one may lack and the lack of these “needs” can cause major damage spiritually, mentally, emotionally, or physically etc. Therefore, many walk with a limp, while medicating behind the masks of success, marriage, career, brands, church, and suffer privately all along. If we don’t deal with these “masks”, we’ll find our futures wrestling with our realities, inhibiting us from pulling a new story out of our history. When pain becomes suppressed, hidden, or ignored, it’s kept in the dark. As a result, we experience “Public success and private sufferings”.
Through the masks of suffering, I’ve discovered that God had to heal my life from the inside-out. I chose to address the areas of my life that hindered me from carrying out my destiny which was God’s original plan. We all have values, visions, and demands that we must tend to daily. Certain demands can override our deliverance or breakthrough if we don’t make healing a priority.
Breakthrough Steps
We have to be healed emotionally in order to pursue our vision relentlessly. I went from creating a “To Do List” to developing a “To Be List”. We must self-observe who and where we are.
HERE ARE A FEW THINGS TO USE DAILY:
Soul-Searching: We cannot let ourselves off the hook by pretending “it never happened.” In addition, we cannot conquer what we never confront. Take yourself on a soul-searching journey to uncover the scars you left bandages on.
Practical Steps:
Journaling: Grab a journal and let it…have it. Identify two or three negative cycles.
Prayer/Affirmation: Use prayer and affirmations daily to communicate with God. Allow your mind, body, and soul to be healed through these two enrichment techniques.
